Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American sportscaster. She's an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation at times. In 2016, she joined ESPN. She is the daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual since she was nine years old. It was a helpful ability that allowed her to secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami which allowed her to work with the producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then she was promoted to reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009, she relocated from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an investigative reporter for The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to the issue of immigration and drug trafficking from both sides of Mexico-Texas border, she worked as an anchor for five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of news at 9 p.m. news in English and also a reporter again for news at 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. The station also frequently asked her to serve as a sports and weather anchor. Then she anchor and wrote for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She did pieces on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. She was a host of sports for the morning program on Despierta America Deportes. She held the same position for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on the UniMas Network. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz Mexico. They moved at some point towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November of 1985. She also has a younger sibling. The family settled in Miami after moving from Mexico in the US. The couple divorced shortly after and her mother was remarried to one of the naval architects known as Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. She stayed in Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime and was provided with the opportunity of a job. Antonietta was a senior high school student and was very aware of her goals for the future. She went to Mount Union University to see if it was a good fit for her. The result was that she enjoyed the university, and the university offered the major she wanted. When she completed the requirements for high school, she was accepted into the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed for a number of years, was an acquaintance. The passion he had for journalism as well as her self-confidence inspired her. In turn, she, tried to meet the standards he set and to not let him down.
